What precautions are you taking because of the new corona virus?
We are following all the guidelines put forth by the State of Iowa. This includes spacing groups at least 6' away from each other, sanitizing surfaces even more than we did before, and many other changes. Employees are wearing masks, and customers are encouraged to wear masks when not eating or drinking. We are open for in-house dining and drinking as well as take-out. We ask that everyone have a seat even if just ordering take-out, it helps keep more distance from our employees and from other customers. If you would like to buy take-out or have us bring an order to you curbside, please click SHOP and place your order online.
Where did you come up with the name of your business?
Pivo is the Czech word for beer. Craig’s heritage is Czech, so the PIVO name honors the long history of excellence in Czech brewing. Blepta means "chatterbox" in Czech, and it was something Sara's Grandpa often called her when she was little.
Are you pet-friendly?
Dogs on a leash are welcome in our courtyard to the north of our taproom. It's best to park toward the northwest part of our site, near the big blue "brewery" letters. Then you can access the courtyard without going through the building.
Can I bring my kids or is there an age restriction?
All ages are welcome in our taproom. You do need to be at least 21 years old to have alcohol, but we have food and plenty of non-alcoholic options too.
Do you have outdoor seating?
Yes, we have a deck to the south of the taproom and a courtyard with picnic tables to the north side.
Can I rent your venue for an upcoming event?
Yes! Our rental contract is available by clicking the red button at https://www.pivoblepta.com/event-directory. You can also browse our calendar there to see if the date you have in mind is open.
Are you looking for investors?
We are not looking for investors at this time. We are flattered by so much interest in this area, but we hope to be able to do this without outside investors.
I have a great idea for…
By all means, share! We are always looking for creative beer ideas and we will consider your art class ideas too. Just give us a holler at email@example.com
